Canine Training Services

We believe that a "challenge" cannot be solved unless you fully understand it. It is with this in mind, that we have designed our Training Program. In our program, we strive to not only overcome the pet’s unwanted behaviors, but also to educate and teach the "tools and" techniques needed to build a strong bond between handler and dog.

How our program is different:

  • Unlike other training packages, our program is custom tailored to each individual dog and owner.  We evaluate each dog individually and devise an individualized plan to achieve your training goals.

  • We strongly encourage and promote the healthy interaction between dog and human handler by utilizing positive reinforcement techniques. We believe in promoting a positive working relationship, rather than just simply repeating ‘obedience drills.’

  • We do not require that our training clients commit to a package. Unlike many training facilities, we do not require you to sign up or commit to a package. We believe that once you and your pet begin training, it is something that you should want to continue with, not something you feel obligated to finish out because you’re bound to a package.

 Training Programs
Fieldstone Animal Inn offers 3 training programs:

Private Training Plan

Our private training plan is composed of one-on-one sessions. It offers the greatest opportunity to modify any undesired behaviors. As part of this plan, we offer to travel to the owner’s location to help solve any ‘environmentally specific’ behaviors.
Time Length: About one hour (with time allotted for play and relationship building).

Group Training Plan
Once a dog and owner are able to successfully demonstrate a working relationship in a one-on-one environment, then the team can be placed in a group environment. This type of training is beneficial for those teams that need to work through challenges in a group situation.
**Requirement: Prior to entering into the Group Training Plan, the dog and handler team must be able to pass a basic obedience test conducted at our site.

Board & Train Plan
This part of our program allows an owner that has limited time to get the important training objectives completed by our training staff. During their two week stay, each dog will receive daily training sessions to help foster a sense of focus with the handler. In addition to training sessions, to help develop a content dog, play sessions (individual or group) will be included during their day. Upon completion of the second week, the owner will return to our facility to participate in a training session. During this session, the owner will be taught the proper handling techniques for their dog. This plan also includes up to three additional training sessions with no additional cost.
